Game of Thrones, casting

Despite an exhausting day of jury duty I must gush or burst!

I just found out a pilot for 'A Game of Thrones' by George RR Martin is being made.

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!
*Two fisted punches in the air. Pulling of hair*

If you've read the book, check out the casting so far. Then jump, shriek, cry, laugh all at once!

At one stage people were contemplating Richard Armitage for a role in this. (I can't remember the name of the character they were proposing ... will have to check).

Wahoooooooo!
Oh wait, I've never read the book and don't know anything about it... but it's fun to be excited too. :)
I does look like a great cast though!

I wondered that he could have played Ned Stark. I once read that other RA fans thought he could play Sandor Cleagan, but i didn't think he was buff enough.

Also found out that Harry Lloyd (Will Scarlett in RH) has a role in Game of thrones too. From the IMDB page, the only role that hasn't been cast is for Khal Drogo... it's total wishful thinking they'd get RA for that one, though he'd do a smashing job.

Nat, Game of thrones is the first book in an unfinished series of medieval fantasy. It's pretty much about war, family, lust, betrayal etc. If they manage to pull it off it'll be historic tv. The story is sooooo complicated, in a good way. Like lord of the rings meets Band of brothers meets Robin hood ... I think.
